Previous business experience.
After spending 4 years in the US Navy (and a further 6 years in active Reserves), I attended the University of Houston where I received a BBA in Finance. I was a co-founder and a charter member of the UH Chapter of the Financial Management Association. I then went to work for the FDIC and attained the position of Commissioned Examiner. I was in that role for 6 1/2 years before I left to complete my MBA at the University of Dallas with a specialization in Personal Financial Planning. I started my career in that industry in 1996 at Ernst & Young as a para-planner. I also spent 3 years at The Ayco Company (since bought out by Goldman Sachs), an executive planning firm based out of Albany NY in their Dallas office. I've been at my current firm for the last 19 years where I am a Sr. Client Advisor and Wealth Partner. I am fully licensed as a securities rep and insurance agent and am a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Funds Specialist.

A deeper competency, attention to detail, genuine, caring service - and most importantly a culture that fosters trustworthiness and loyalty.

What is your ideal client?
Its not so much what they do as it is who they are. My clients are diverse in their professions and include O&G execs, small business owners, doctors, ministry personnel, retired executives, etc. But an ideal client is a successful client in whatever profession they practice, busy, and coachable. My ideal client will have $1 Million+ in investable assets that I manage.
