"Before joining Team, I had an established relationship with a CPA. I was shocked when I received my 2004 tax return, and made an urgent plea to my CPA for help. He was unable to offer any solutions. After several days of depression, I called Mike Verucchi for a review of my return. Mike was able to identify some changes that would defer some of my tax burden to next year so that I would have time to plan and prepare. His one suggestion has made my membership worthwhile."
Link: Be the Link and the Conduit of Opportunities.About 3 yrs ago I was invited by TN member, Kathy Garland, to an event at III Forks. At that event, I met an Office Manager of a Frisco organization who helps entrepreneurs with starting and growing new technology ventures. She was interested in the fact that I provide packaging products & equipment to manufacturers and distributors but particularly I was looking for start-up companies that were taking products to market for the first time. Since she sees lots of start-ups in her daily business, she thought that she would have opportunities to refer their clients to me.
Back in February 2010, she contacted me with a referral to her neighbor. This young man had already been in business for 2 years with a line of hot salsa. However, he had the opportunity to get a contract with Costco and needed specially designed printed corrugated trays for this project. In November after several revisions of the package design, my client received the final approval from Costco with an initial order of 10 skids of salsa. Edge Packaging Systems has since produced 5000 trays for Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa. This is a true example of how it took 3 people linking each other that resulted in closed business…Peggy Edge, Owner, Edge Packaging Systems, Member Dallas Chapter.
Results - Cross NetworkingMatt Ramsey (Compass Point Marketing and TN- Dallas Chapter), recently extended a referral to me. When in conversation with one of his customers, he learned of an issue they were having where Mechanical Partners could provide a solution. He sent an e-mail introduction to his customer qualifying me in referral, wherein, I promptly initiated contact with the customer and saw to one of our service technicians being immediately dispatched to address this problem that was unable to be concluded by the initial service company the customer had initially contacted! I am an not only an advocate of TN’s processes working; but I strongly advise all members to mix with other chapters to extend their personal network! Learn of those members & how you may extend referrals within those chapters! Remember, it all begins with “How can I help you grow your business today?”… Educate the other chapter’s membership on who you are, what it is your company does, and whom a good referral for you might be! Had I not made the time to involve myself in the Dallas Chapter, being a member of Team’s McKinney Chapter, the “RESULTS” probably would not have come… Thanks Matt, for thinking of me!!
